The Gleneagles is about 30 minutes from Edinburgh. The hotel dates from 1924 grandeur is omnipresent! The 232 rooms are palatial or at least luxurious, and there are three restaurants, one with two Michelin stars. There is always action in the hotel; there is still dancing in the ballroom and meetings in conference rooms, the atmospheric bar is constantly full of guests. What immediately stands out is the enormous friendliness of the entire staff.

The Gleneagles Hotel also offers The Club, where you can participate in fitness classes. It features 2 swimming pools, a sauna, a steam room, a gym and an outdoor hot tub.

The deliciously extensive breakfast offers, to name but a few, 8 different freshly squeezed fruit juices. The ham is sliced for you on the spot - the bread is still warm from the oven, food lovers can indulge themselves here!

Information about the golf course

Much has been written about the 3 courses of Gleneagles, from the Ryder Cup course PGA Centenary Course, which is said to be boring. Well believe me I experienced it as a party, and that in November! I was glad it wasn't a high summer because I think roughs would have put quite a strain on my game. The Kings & The Queens dating from 1919 are nicer, lie better and are walkable while for the Centenary a baby carriage is advised.

Three courses, 3 different challenges - I would say play & discover for yourself - I promise you...disappointment is out of the question!
